As the associate coordinator for the Southwest Resource Team, LaShonda is responsible for providing leadership to support the delivery of high impact training and technical assistance for states and tribes in the CAPT Southwest Service Area, assuring timeliness, quality, and cultural appropriateness. LaShonda also plans, coordinates, develops, and participates in state and national meetings, conferences, and technical assistance sessions which guide prevention practitioners in evidence based prevention practices.
Prior to joining the CAPT, LaShonda worked at PreventionWorkz, Inc. She guided the translation of state prevention goals and objectives, prevention priorities, and standards to staff and regional and local-level stakeholders. This was done through the design of goal-focused community coalition TA events, regional curricula, and workshops that led to community change.
