Center for Prevention Research and Development
The Center for Prevention Research and Development is a unit within the University of Illinois dedicated to the application of research to public service. They provide training and technical assistance in a variety of areas, including program development and evaluation, school-based assessment, grantwriting, and database management.
Children, Youth, and Families Education and Research Network (CYFERnet)

Empowerment Evaluation Institute
The Empowerment Evaluation Institute is devoted to the development and application of empowerment—or self-evaluation—activities. Empowerment evaluators serve as coaches helping others learn how to evaluate their own programs in order to improve program practice. Harvard Family Research Project’s Evaluation Exchange
The Evaluation Exchange is a periodical designed to address current issues facing program evaluators of all levels, containing articles written by the most prominent evaluators in the field. Issues addressed include innovative methods and approaches to evaluation, emerging trends in evaluation practice, and practical applications of evaluation theory.
Online Evaluation Resource Library (OERL)
Funded by the National Science Foundation, this library is for professionals seeking to design, conduct, document, or review project evaluations. The site contains a large collection of sound plans, reports, and instruments from past and current project evaluations in several content areas, as well as guidelines for how to improve evaluation practice using the website resources, alignment tables that contain evaluation criteria, and a glossary.
Practical Assessment, Research, and Evaluation
PARE is an online journal designed to provide education professionals access to refereed articles that can have a positive impact on assessment, research evaluation, and teaching practices, especially at the local education agency level.
Search Institute is an independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance the well-being of adolescents and children by generating knowledge and promoting its application. At the heart of the institute’s work is the framework of 40 developmental assets—positive experiences, relationships, opportunities, and personal qualities that young people need to grow up healthy, caring, and responsible. The Search Institute offers a variety of services, including a survey services unit that gives school districts and communities comprehensive profiles of their youth based on the framework of developmental assets.

University of Kansas’s Community Tool Box
The Community Tool Box website contains numerous how-to tools designed to help practitioners with the different tasks necessary for community health and development. There are sections on leadership, strategic planning, community assessment, advocacy, grantwriting, and evaluation.
University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension’s Program Development and Evaluation Unit

U.S. Department of Education's Planning and Evaluation Service
