Associate Director for Technology Solutions
As associate director for technology solutions for SAMHSA’s CAPT, Matt ensures that CAPT services—and the internal management systems that support them—employ innovative, accessible, and integrated technologies that can be feasibly implemented and maintained, yield substantial resource efficiencies, and promote broad user engagement. He has primary responsibility for identifying and overseeing development and application of web-based project management systems that facilitate internal operations, service delivery monitoring, tracking and reporting of evaluation data, and quality improvement. In addition, Matt works closely with other CAPT teams to develop strategies for the effective use of virtual technologies in the delivery of T/TA services and helps to strengthen internal protocols and staff capacity to ensure consistency and quality in the application of those technologies.
Previously, Matt oversaw subcontract administration for SAMHSA’s Service to Science initiative and has developed and designed training and technical assistance resources and other content for the CAPT area of SAMHSA’s website. He brings experience developing guidance materials, training modules, and online tools in areas such as school-based health promotion, pandemic influenza preparedness, HIV in educational settings, and substance abuse prevention in a behavioral health context. He earned his M.P.H. in maternal and child health from the Boston University School of Public Health and his B.A. in public health from Johns Hopkins University.
