Please note: You will notice that not all of the programs listed on the SAMHSA Model Program website are included in CSAP's Western CAPT's best and promising practices website database. This is due to the following reasons:

1. CSAP's Western CAPT's website includes only those programs that have been shown to be effective in preventing substance abuse and/or the risk factors for substance abuse. While SAMHSA Model Program website includes not only programs shown to be effective in preventing substance abuse, but also programs effective at preventing other problem behaviors.
    
2. CSAP's Western CAPT's website includes only those programs that provide training, technical assistance and/or materials that allow for replication of the program. The programs listed on the SAMHSA Model Program website listed as "model" also all provide training, technical assistance, and/or materials for replication. However, some of the programs listed as "effective" or "promising" on the SAMHSA Model Programs website are not replicable at this time.
