Training Overview
“Who Moved My Cheese?”
| Target Audience: |
| The target audience for this training is very broad—coalition
boards or meetings, community groups, state boards, business sector,
local, state, or national prevention organizations. The target audience
can be any group noting a need for training on this topic. |
| |
| Training Objectives: |
|
The objective of the training is to expose participants to change theory
in a non-threatening, story format. Accepted major principles of change
theory are formatted into a modern-day allegory. Change is difficult within
organizations, and the training helps people to self-identify as change
agents or change blockers and hopefully gives the blockers a chance to
expand their paradigm. |
| |
| Format: |
| The training begins with a colorful and exciting PowerPoint presentation
and continues with facilitated group discussion and small group exercises. |
| |
| Number of Participants: |
| As a lecture and for information dissemination purposes, this training
can accommodate very large audiences and can be used as a plenary
presentation. To actually facilitate change within an organization,
the audience should be much smaller (25 optimum) and should be made
up of people in similar positions within the organization OR should
be made up of people from throughout the hierarchy of the organization
with permission given for non-judgmental, honest communication. |
| |
| Time Frame: |
| The initial lecture takes approximately one hour. Follow-up activities,
if desired, can usually be completed within a four-hour format inclusive
of the lecture. |
