Training Overview

Student Assistance Programs: Providing a “Safety Net” for Students

Target Audience:
Superintendents, principals, teachers, school staff and/or others who are interested in creating student assistance programs to reduce barriers to learning and ensure student success in safe, disciplined, and drug-free schools and communities.
 
Training Objectives:
  1. To provide an overview of the necessity of a comprehensive student assistance program (prevention, intervention, and support services) in every school system.
  2. To provide details of the recommended components to implement an effective student assistance program.
  3. To discuss recommended methods/resources to implement a student assistance program.
Format:
Lecture, role play, open discussion, groups
 
Number of Participants:
Event can be adapted to accommodate both large and small groups
 
Time Frame:
1-3 hours
