The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
(SAMHSA) has adopted the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) to guide
planning, implementation and evaluation of all substance abuse prevention,
treatment and mental health services. This workshop will provide an
overview of the five stages of the framework. SAMHSA/CSAP’s
goals for community change utilizing the SPF framework will be presented.
Readiness for adopting the SPF framework and strategies for implementing
each stage of the framework will be discussed.
