Integrating State Administrative Records To
Manage Substance Abuse Treatment System Performance

TAP 29The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA’s) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment announces the availability of a new Technical Assistance Publication (TAP) 29, Integrating State Administrative Records To Manage Substance Abuse Treatment System Performance. This document describes the utility and practice of integrating the information available in State agency data sets with information on clients of alcohol and drug abuse services. Developed with guidance from an advisory group of State and Federal representatives and field researchers, it provides both implementation and technical guidance for developing integrated-data systems to monitor performance, improve service quality, and use these integrated data as a management tool.
