Deirdre Danahar, MSW, MPH — Senior Program Manager Deirdre Danahar serves CSAP's Southeast CAPT as State Coordinator for Training and Technical Assistance for the states of Kentucky and Mississippi. As such, Deirdre develops and provides training and technical assistance for the Southeast CAPT contract. For the past 16 years, her work has focused on underserved populations including persons with profound developmental delay, high-risk adolescents and families with multigenerational HIV Disease. In the past 12 years, her work has centered on HIV/AIDS. Deirdre worked as a Ryan White CARE Act funded case manager for HIV infected women, children and adolescents and their families from 1992-1996. Through her work with the Tulane-LSU AIDS Clinical Trials Unit, she was involved with National Institute of Health sponsored pediatric and adult HIV clinical trials from 1994-1998. During the 5 years prior to joining PIRE, she worked with the AIDS Education and Training Centers in the Tri-State Delta region ( Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi) as well as the New England AETC. The AETCs are Ryan White Care Act funded projects which provide evidence-based training and technical assistance to primary care providers. Her current interests include development of integrated systems of care, cross-cultural work, and under-resourced communities. Areas of expertise include: HIV/AIDS, Ryan White CARE Act, multidisciplinary teams, grant writing and administration, grant review, cross-cultural work, participative evaluation, site visitation and assessment, coalition building, and oral presentations. Deirdre earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and she holds a Master of Social Work (health concentration) and a Master of Public Health (maternal and child health concentration) from Tulane University. |
