Charlotte E. Carlton — Project Director Charlotte Carlton is the Director of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP)'s Southeast Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT) and a Senior Program Director for the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation, Inc. (PIRE). She has worked with the CAPT project since its inception in 1997 and served as Chair of the National CAPT Network during FY 2001-2002. She is the co-recipient of the 2002 Science to Practice Award presented annually by the Society for Prevention Research (SPR) and the 2001 Award of Excellence for Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Prevention presented annually by the National Prevention Network (NPN). In addition, Charlotte has 20 years experience as a College and University classroom instructor, having taught at Mississippi College, Jackson State University and Belhaven College, all located in the Jackson, Mississippi, area. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English from Mississippi College and is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Mississippi. |
