Roger Svendsen is a Training and Technical Assistance Specialist for the Central Resource Team. He has been involved in the substance abuse field in a variety of roles over the past 32 years including: coordinator of health/drug education for the Minnesota Department of Education, director of Minnesota State Drug Abuse Prevention under Governor Al Quie, and director of program development and training for Hazelden Health Promotion Services. He has been on the faculty of Rutgers University Center for Alcohol Studies for the past 20 years. He co-authored several publications related to ATOD issues and gambling. He received his M.S. in health science from Mankato State University in Minnesota. He has also completed some doctoral studies in health education at the University of Minnesota.
