As Associate Coordinator for the West Resource Team, Michelle is responsible for providing training and technical assistance (T/TA) to the West Region. Specifically, she is responsible for coordinating T/TA for two States, six Tribes, and 15 U.S. Department of Education Grants to Reduce Alcohol Abuse grantees. She collaborates with State and local prevention professionals, epidemiologists, and evaluators, as well as with other Resource Team colleagues and CAPT staff, to support the use of evidence-based interventions to address substance abuse. Her expertise is grounded in 17 years of prevention-related experiences working with schools, communities, and States. Prior to joining the West Regional Team, Michelle worked for a range of organizations, including the California Hispanic Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, SAMHSA's Southwest CAPT, and Little Wound School District on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
