Northeast Resource Team

As Evaluator for SAMHSA's CAPT’s Northeast Resource Team, Kristen is responsible for managing the evaluation of SAMHSA's CAPT training and technical assistance (T/TA) services to the Northeast Service Area. In addition, she works closely with SAMHSA's CAPT Chief of Data and Evaluation and other Evaluators to design and implement the evaluation of CAPT services, manage and analyze evaluation data, and provide evaluation support to SAMHSA for regional and national events.

Kristen received her Ph.D. in Behavioral Science from the University of Rhode Island in 2006. While working toward her degree, she collaborated with a team of researchers on a National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism-funded prevention study evaluating the use of coalition-delivered environmental management strategies on reducing college alcohol abuse and consequences. Kristen then joined the Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals where she provided T/TA to local task forces on logic model development and evaluation planning. She has worked as a contributing editor for Addiction Professional Magazine, Behavioral Healthcare Magazine, and Mental Health Weekly.
