She also collaborates with other researchers to compile and publish reviews on the prevention of emerging substances of abuse.
Kristen received her Ph.D. in behavioral science from the University of Rhode Island. While working toward her degree, she collaborated with teams of researchers on several National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism-funded prevention studies, including an evaluation of the use of coalition-delivered environmental strategies on reducing college alcohol abuse and consequences. Kristen then joined the Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals where she provided T/TA to local task forces on logic model development and evaluation planning. She has designed and taught courses at the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College for the psychology and women’s studies departments and has worked as a contributing editor for Addiction Professional Magazine, Behavioral Healthcare Magazine, and Mental Health Weekly.
