As acting coordinator for the Northeast Resource Team, Gisela is responsible for managing and supervising the delivery of training and technical assistance (T/TA) to the service area’s 11 states. She coordinates and delivers training and technical assistance to grantees as they seek to reduce the impact of alcohol and other drug use through the use of the strategic planning process.
Prior to joining the CAPT, Gisela worked in local Massachusetts communities funded by SPF SIG, block grant, and other federal, state and local dollars to reduce underage drinking and opioid overdose and to reduce the use of marijuana. Her specific expertise includes developing health communications and social marketing campaigns, managing award-winning training programs, providing technical assistance to other community coalitions, and developing cross-sector partnerships. She also has experience working in HIV/AIDS prevention programs in the US and India, youth programming, and international relations. She received her BA in Political Science-International Relations from the University of Maryland at College Park and her MS in Gender and Social Policy from the London School of Economics. Gisela is also a Certified Prevention Specialist.
