As the associate coordinator for the Southeast Service Area, Donna is responsible for supervising and managing training and technical assistance staff, services, materials, and operations. This includes overseeing strategic planning activities to ensure that they meet program goals and objectives. Donna also participates in the Southeast Resource Team’s Management Team as core management personnel.
Donna has Masters degrees in both clinical psychology and information technology and management. She brings extensive experience working in the fields of research and substance abuse prevention. Before joining SAMHSA's CAPT, she worked as a research project coordinator for over 15 years, which included serving as a SPF SIG Coordinator for two years. She also worked as a team lead research protocol analyst at Emory University’s Institutional Review Board. Specific areas of expertise include alcohol and drug prevention and treatment, teen pregnancy prevention and family planning, HIV/AIDS prevention and screening, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, sickle cell disease, and behavior regulation and Behavior Change Theory.
Donna has a current PRIM&R Certification for Institutional Review Board Professionals, as well as CITI certifications for Socio-Behavioral Studies, Bio-Medical Studies, and Good Clinical Practices. She is a member of the Atlanta Area Evaluation Association.
