As Training and technical assistance (T/TA) coordinator, Charline coordinates T/TA events and activities related to the Southeast Resource Team project work. These responsibilities include: securing trainers and SAMHSA's CAPT Associates, making logistical arrangements; preparing and editing materials; coordinating details surrounding event locations; submitting and tracking T/TA Approval Requests; maintaining the internal calendar of T/TA activities; compiling T/TA event forms; and serving as a liaison between the Southeast Resource Team staff, Core staff, external SAMHSA's CAPT Associates and consultants, and State prevention staff.
Charline has over 12 years of experience in alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention, having served for more than five years as the Associate Director/Deputy Director of Communications for the earlier SAMHSA's Southeast CAPT and for more than six years as Managing Editor, Editor-in-Chief, and Vice-President of Publishing for a Mississippi-based regional health promotion and educational publishing company. Experienced in both prevention publishing and communications, Charline is also a certified grants specialist and a certified grants reviewer and the editor of several anthologies of fiction and non-fiction. She holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Southern Mississippi and M.A. and B.A. degrees in English from Mississippi College.
