As Epidemiologist for the Southeast Resource Team, Carol provides epidemiology-related training and technical assistance to grantees implementing the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF). She also collaborates with epidemiologists from four other CAPT Resource Teams to ensure consistency in service across SAMSHA’s CAPT.
Carol has extensive experience in instrument design, data collection, and data analysis across multiple research and social service settings. She has collaborated on the evaluations of juvenile court systems, violence in schools, and the quality of substance abuse and violence prevention programs in schools. She also contributed to the redesign of the Drug Abuse Warning Network. In addition, she was involved in Phase III of the National Cross-Site Evaluation of the State Incentive Grants (SIGs) and worked on the SPF SIG National Cross-Site Evaluation for the first two cohorts of SPF SIG funded grantees. Carol earned her Ph.D. in sociology with a concentration in criminology and deviance from the University of Kentucky.
