Welcome to Social Marketing, our online course on the use of marketing strategies for substance abuse prevention, sponsored by CSAP's Northeast Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies. This course will teach you basic techniques for using social marketing in your prevention efforts. It reviews the history of social marketing, explores the main principles behind it, and illustrates these principles using examples from both the prevention and corporate worlds.

  • Explore how advertising techniques can be used to promote healthy behavior
  • Learn a 10-step process for developing effective social marketing campaigns
  • Practice analyzing an audience and applying basic social marketing techniques to the work you do

This course will also allow you to meet other practitioners in an innovative, online forum.
