Over the last four days, you have explored a variety of ways advertising
techniques can be used to promote healthy behavior, reviewed key
aspects of social marketing, and learned a 10 step process for
developing effective social marketing campaigns. These include
the following:
Step 1: Identify the audience
Step 2: Identify evaluation measures
Step 3: Identify channels
Step 4: Identify benefits
Step 5: Identify obstacles
Step 6: Determine the message
Step 7: Test and refine
Step 8: Collect data
Step 9: Modify your work, based on the data
Step 10: Write an evaluation report
You have also practiced analyzing an audience
and several different prevention campaigns. We hope that you
will be able to apply
some of the basic social marketing techniques you have learned
to the work you do. If you haven’t yet had the chance,
please take some time to check out the many Internet resources
and examples listed in the Resources section.
On this final day of the event, please do the following:
- Visit the Message
Board to review the questions and comments posed by
participants throughout the event.
- Share one or two key things you learned from participating
in the event and hope to apply to future work.
We have developed a brief course evaluation to gather information
about your experience throughout this online event. Your careful
reflections will help us improve future events. Please do not
fill out this evaluation until you have completed the course.
If, for any reason, you do not feel comfortable
completing the evaluation, please go to the evaluation page,
enter your e-mail
address, and click the “submit” button. This will let
us know that you completed the event and provide us with the information
we need to send you a certificate of completion.
