| Welcome to What Now?
Effective and Useful Data Presentation, an online workshop sponsored
by Connecticut’s
Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and CSAP’s
Northeast Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT).
This exciting new course is designed to help state- and community-level
practitioners organize and develop presentations that are interesting,
informative, and tailored to audience needs.
As a participant in the event, you will have the opportunity to
do the following:
- Explore eight critical factors to consider
when developing a data presentation plan.
- Describe the differences
between sub-population, comparative, and trend data.
- Show how
data can be used to mobilize groups to address issues raised
by the findings.
- Determine the most appropriate method(s)
for communicating findings to different audiences.
- Examine strategic
decisions that will maximize your chances for achieving intended
results.
This course will also allow you to meet other practitioners in
an innovative, online forum. You will participate in moderated
Web-based discussions, where you can exchange ideas and learn from
your colleagues in the field. You will also participate in online
activities that let you immediately apply what you have learned. What Now? Effective and Useful Data Presentation was
developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Education's
National
Coordinator Training and Technical Assistance Center. It is the
third in a series of courses developed by the Northeast CAPT to
address issues related to program evaluation. For information on
