Technical Assistance

Northeast CAPT technical assistance services target state prevention leaders and practitioners (e.g., SIG and SSA staff), and leaders and providers at the community or local level (e.g., active SIG subrecipient coalitions, and local education agencies) across a range of settings.

Topics
We address a wide variety of content areas including assessment and evaluation, program selection, balancing fidelity and adaptation, and effective prevention strategies. We also provide in-depth TA on topics such as program design, crafting evaluation designs, effective methods for sharing data, developing a communications plan, creating a statewide prevention plan, and choosing appropriate programs.

Types of TA

  • On-site Face-to-Face TA. Northeast CAPT staff and associates, representing every state in our region, provide training and in-depth TA to other prevention practitioners on a variety of topics, such as designing an organizational strategic plan, selecting an appropriate prevention program, developing an appropriate evaluation plan, or creating a comprehensive communications plan.

  • Computer-Based TA. Northeast CAPT offers TA on strategic planning, evaluation, assessment, program selection, fidelity, adaptation, and sustainability, delivered via Web bulletin boards to online communities of learners and other events as a follow-up to training events, institutes, distance learning, and videoconferencing through both regional and state-specific events.

  • Information Technology. Northeast CAPT staff members respond to TA requests submitted via phone, e-mail, and web-based forms. Each day, TA staff monitor our 800 number and designated e-mail address for service requests. These TA requests are tracked regularly and often form the basis of print FAQs distributed at training events, during other TA contacts, and via electronic methods.

If you have a general TA inquiry, please call us toll-free at 1-888-EDC-CAPT or send an e-mail request to: capt@edc.org.
