The Hands-on Training: Website Development for PreventionTarget Audience: State-level and community-level prevention practitioners with an interest in developing websites for prevention to meet their needs. This workshop was designed for participants with a basic knowledge of using a browser and HTML. Training
Objectives: Participants will be able to: Format of Training: This training explores the following topics: Create HTML documents; apply attributes and values; utilize spacing and special symbols; format paragraphs; change fonts, font color and size; create bold, italic and underlined text; create ordered/unordered text; hide text; insert images; create a rollover; wrap text around images; stop text wrap around images; create hyperlinks, anchors, and label links; hyperlink to a specific browser window; build a <mailto:> by embedding a subject and text in the body of the e-mail; create tables; align and change cell colors; understand the importance of testing; create title and Meta tags; locate ISPs by area code; obtain a domain name; transfer files from client to remote server; advertise your website on major search engines CSAP's
Northeast CAPT trainers will use the following techniques
throughout this workshop: Timeframe: Approximately 4 hours Number of Participants: Minimum of 10 up to a maximum of 20 participants set up in a computer lab with 2 people to a computer. The workshop is 50% lecture and 50% lab. These trainings are available from CSAPs Northeast CAPT.
