Policy: A Strategy for Prevention PractitionersTarget Audience: State-level and community-level prevention practitioners with an interest in policy and the best ways you might go about learning how to use policy. This workshop is appropriate for participants with a basic level of expertise in this area. Training
Objectives: Participants will be able to: Format of Training: This training explores the following topics: benefits of policy, guidelines for making policy at the local level, policies that restrict access and availability, policy strategies that target the prices of alcohol and tobacco products, policy strategies that limit the location and density of retail alcohol outlets, policy strategies that deter citizens from breaking the law, policy strategies that place restrictions on use in public places, policy strategies that restrict marketing of alcohol and tobacco in public places.
