What Now? Effective and Useful Data Presentation

Target Audience: State-level and community-level prevention practitioners with an interest in learning the best and most effective way to assemble and use data.  This workshop is appropriate for participants with a basic understanding of data collection.

Training Objectives: Participants will be able to:

• Increase understanding of the value of collecting and reporting data
• Increase understanding of effective ways to present data
• Show how data can be used to mobilize groups to address issues raised
by the findings.
• Identify different ways to present data to various audiences.

Format of Training: This training explores the following topics: Why collect and present data? as well as eight questions to address before presenting data: 

• WHAT is the nature of the data that you have collected?
• WHY do you want to present the data?
• TO WHOM are you presenting the data?
• HOW are you going to present the data?
• HOW MUCH data are you going to present?
• WHO will present the data?
• WHERE are you going to present the data?
• WHEN are you going to present the data?

CSAP's Northeast CAPT trainers will use the following techniques throughout this workshop:

• Presentation of background material
• Large group discussion designed to draw lessons and experiences from
participants

Timeframe: Approximately 2-3 hours

Number of Participants: Minimum of 10 up to a maximum of 50 participants
