OVERVIEW:
Successful implementation of model programs is essential
for ensuring effective results and outcomes. Barriers to implementation
can include a bad fit between program type and local conditions or unanticipated
changes, events and conditions which arise once the program is in place.
Program implementation also involves the transfer of evidence-based technology
which includes strategies such as creating awareness in a schools, disseminating
information, developing program champions, getting commitment and developing
users’ involvement. This audio conference is for LEAs and recipients of
Grants to Reduce Alcohol Abuse who are interested in effectively implementing
model substance abuse prevention programs in schools. The specific content
will focus on questions submitted by participants prior to the teleconference.
