Welcome
to Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover: Using Feasibility Assessment
to Select Prevention Programs,
an online workshop sponsored by CSAP's
Northeast Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT).
This exciting new course is designed to help you
choose an evidence-based prevention program that is the right fit
for your organization and community. As not all programs work equally
well in all settings, this course will help you sift through and
weigh the multiple factors that influence program success. It introduces
a tool that will help you objectively select programs that match
your organization's or community's capabilities. If you've already
selected a program, the tool can help you systematically identify
areas you may need to address prior to implementation.
As a participant in this event, you will have the
opportunity to do the following:
- Identify criteria to guide the selection of an
appropriate prevention program from a set of evidence-based programs
- Determine the fit among organizational capacity,
community conditions, and programs requirements
- Apply a feasibility assessment model to a specific
prevention program
- Define program fidelity and adaptation
- Describe elements to consider in effective program
replication and adaptation
This course will allow you to meet other practitioners
in an innovative, online forum. You will participate in moderated
Web-based discussions, where you can exchange ideas and learn from
your colleagues in the field. You will also participate in online
activities that let you immediately apply what you have learned.
This course is based on a face-to-face training developed
by CSAP's Northeast CAPT, in collaboration with Social Science
Research and Evaluation, Inc.
