Welcome to Effective Strategies: Building Blocks of Prevention, an online course sponsored by CSAP's Northeast Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies, designed to help you incorporate evidence-based strategies into your prevention efforts. As a participant in this event, you will have the opportunity to:

• Find out why federal and state agencies are interested in encouraging the application of evidence-based prevention.

• Explore five strategies that can be used to create environmental change, as well as individual change.

• Examine the evidence-based principles that underlie these key strategies.

• Look at the implications of incorporating evidence-based principles in the development and implementation of effective prevention programs.

This course will also enable you to meet other practitioners in an innovative, online forum. You will participate in moderated Web-based discussions, where you can exchange ideas and learn from your colleagues in the field.
