Melanie Adler
Melanie Adler is CSAP’s Northeast CAPT’s Distance Learning
Manager. She is responsible for overseeing the transfer of existing CAPT training sessions into a web-based environment. She works closely with Center staff to identify and create online materials that accurately reflect the science of prevention, meet the expressed needs of state and local constituents, and facilitate the development of an online community of learners.

Before joining the CAPT staff, Ms. Adler served as lead materials developer for the U.S. Department of Education’s National Training Center for Drug Prevention and School Safety Coordinators. She contributed to the conceptualization of the Center’s online continuing education program and oversaw the design and development of eight interactive, online continuing education events. She also contributed to the development of a resource guide designed to help school personnel apply effective research-based prevention strategies. Ms. Adler earned her S.M. in health and social behavior from the Harvard School of Public Heath and her B.S. in biology from Wesleyan University.
