Minority AIDS/HIV Initiative
CSAP's Central CAPT Provides Technical Assistance to 17 Minority HIV/AIDS Grantees
This initiative aims to engage community level domestic public and private nonprofit entities to prevent and reduce the onset of substance abuse (SA), and transmission of HIV and hepatitis among minority populations and minority reentry populations in communities of color disproportionately affected by SA, HIV/AIDS, and/or hepatitis.
Central CAPT offers services to grantee sites by:
- Two technical assistance workshops. The first was held in Washington, DC on February 12, 2007. The goal of this meeting was to provide MAI grantees with information on training and technical assistance available to them, as well as discuss the implementation of SAMHSA's Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF). The second meeting is a regional workshop designed to meet the particular needs of the MAI grantees. This workshop is being planned for June 2007.
- Technical assistance consultations via phone and/or the Internet complement the technical assistance workshops.
