Nicole joined the Southwest Prevention Center to coordinate, broker, and deliver Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) services to State and Tribal grantees within the Southwest Resource Team’s service area. Currently, Nicole serves as the primary T/TA contact for Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. As a soon-to-be graduate of the University of Oklahoma Master’s in Prevention Science program, Nicole enjoys blending research from health promotion, behavioral health, epigenetics, and neuroscience fields with a public health approach for effective application of the Strategic Prevention Framework.

Prior to moving to Oklahoma, Nicole spent two years coordinating prevention services and provider T/TA for eight rural Arizona counties as a Prevention Specialist for one of the State’s Regional Behavioral Health Authorities. Upon receiving a Bachelor’s in Neuroscience and Sociology from Trinity University in 2009, Nicole discovered her niche for substance abuse prevention during her time at the Arizona Department of Health Services as a 2010 Graduate Student Intern with SAMHSA’s CSAP Prevention Fellowship Program. Her passion for prevention, however, was discovered earlier during Nicole’s time in South Africa working with the University of the Western Cape’s HIV/AIDS prevention program.
