Training and Technical Assistance Specialist
As Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) Specialist for the West Resouce Team, Joshua is responsible for providing T/TA to the Pacific Islands nations of American Samoa, Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Republic of Palau. He conducts needs assessments, develops work plans to meet identified needs, and provides T/TA and follow-up services. He also oversees the region’s online courses and identifies appropriate consultants to deliver these trainings.
Joshua brings to his work on SAMHSA's CAPT extensive experience in substance abuse prevention and mental health administration. He has written articles for the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program and contributed numerous news briefs on a variety of substance abuse prevention topics to the earlier West CAPT’s Tip of the CAPT and the Pacific Islands Prevention newsletter, a quarterly product promoting awareness of substance abuse prevention issues in the Pacific and nationwide.
