Senior Product Developer
As senior product developer for SAMHSA’s CAPT, Dana creates online and print products that support the professional development of substance abuse prevention practitioners. While she contributes to many different products, Dana focuses on collaborating with team members and subject matter experts to develop engaging, interactive, and effective e-learning courses on priority prevention topics from the research and conceptualization through the writing and instructional design of course content. During her time with the CAPT and other initiatives at EDC, she has developed products on a wide range of public health topics including best practices in substance abuse and violence prevention, coordinated school health, suicidal and help-seeking behaviors among youth, fetal alcohol syndrome, pandemic influenza, and trauma systems planning and management.
Dana earned a B.S. in human development and family studies from Cornell University and a M.A. in community and prevention research from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Before EDC, Dana planned and delivered youth programs, conducted participatory research to explore social issues and evaluate community-based interventions, and contributed to a review of school-based programs through the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning.
