Service to Science Lead
As a Service to Science Lead for the Southeast Resource Team, Adela Santana manages and coordinates all Service to Science initiative activities in the Southeast CAPT Region which includes promotion of the initiative, participant recruitment, collaboration with the CAPT Core and other CAPT regions to deliver effective T/TA services and provision of T/TA services to participating programs in the Southeast region aimed to guide programs in the documentation of their effectiveness. Adela is also a Training and Technical Assistance provider for the Southeast Resource Team. In this role, Adela develops, coordinates and delivers relevant T/TA services to meet the evolving needs of SAMHSA grantees. Prior to joining SAMHSA’s CAPT, Adela worked with local community-based organizations in Atlanta, Georgia through Emory University’s Office of University-Community Partnerships and Emory’s Pipeline Program to develop and deliver interactive and engaging behavioral health curricula and additionally provided technical assistance to build local programs’ capacity for evaluation.
Adela has a Masters degree in special education from Simmons College as well as a Masters in Behavioral Sciences and health education from Emory University. Adela earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and Spanish literature from Dartmouth College.
