E. Evaluating Program Assumptions

Some of the most important questions about your program may be those that provide information about the assumptions on which the program are based. These questions might include such things as:

• understanding participants responses to the program activities
• ensuring participants understood the curriculum
• determining whether participants liked the activities
• documenting that the program materials were of good quality

There are many ways of evaluating program assumptions. Because program assumptions often have to do with how people feel about the program or react to the program, you may want to consider including qualitative methods as a means for evaluating program assumptions.
