Special Projects
In addition to the scope of work for our core CAPT project, the Southeast CAPT currently has three additional special projects. They are: “Science to Service,” a learning community approach integrating the work of researchers in the field of evidence-based prevention with issues arising from work carried out in the field; the Minority Aids Initiative (MAI), grants designed to help communities in areas of greatest need effectively prevent substance abuse and exposure to HIV/AIDS; and the Grants to Reduce Alcohol Abuse (GRAA), a cooperative agreement with the US Department of Education to provide training and technical assistance on prevention issues that impact programs to reduce underage drinking. Currently, the SECAPT provides services to 28 school districts in nine southeastern states receiving grants from the US Department of Education. The Southeast CAPT is fully committed to each of these projects and grantees with the same high degree of professionalism and attention that we give all of our clients.
