Training Overview

HIV/AIDS

Overview of HIV Disease that includes medical care and social care issues such as the HIV Disease life cycle, medication, symptomology, routes of transmission, social support, stigma, multigenerational infected/affected families, etc.

Target Audience:
Non Medical Substance Abuse Prevention professionals program staff, as well as administrative and/or management staff.
 
Training Objectives:
Participants will have a working knowledge of HIV/AIDS medical care and HIV/AIDS non medical care issues. Specific objectives are developed for the requesting organization’s needs.
 
Format:
Lecture/Presentation with discussion and/or group work.
Technical Assistance via telephone, email or face-to-face contact is available.
 
Number of Participants:
30
 
Time Frame:
90 minutes to half-day or more, depending on the needs of the requesting organization.
