  In November 2002 the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) published a survey on depression, PTSD, and substance abuse among Manhattan residents in the wake of the September 11 attacks.   THis document, published by the The Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland's Victims Unit presents a cross-departmental strategy to deliver practical help and services to victims of the violence in Northern Ireland. Ireland's public heatlh preparedness policies have been developed out of the frequent public health disasters and emergencies that often arise in Northern Ireland.

  Developed by the CDC, this tool enables rapid assessment of state capacity to respond to bioterrorism, outbreaks of infectious disease, and other public health threats and emergencies. It is organized into six chapters that correspond directly with the six funded focus areas of the grant guidance.

  This guide provides practical steps people can take to prepare themselves for a disaster, as well as steps to take after a disaster occurs.

  THis institute was founded in May 1998 as a result of the Nunn-Lugar-Domenici Act to provide Emergency Response to Weapons of Mass Destruction Terrorism Training to first responders nationwide. NTPI has and continues to form partnerships with agencies tasked to conduct threat analysis, plan development, curriculum development, and technology development.
