The
Acrobat-format files are viewable using the Acrobat Reader from Adobe.
When a document is printed from the reader, all formating is preserved
and the result is almost identical to the paper version. Read on for
instructions on how to download and install the reader.
INSTRUCTIONS
FOR: PC USERS| MAC USERS
Specific
Directions for PC-Windows users: downloading the Acrobat Reader and
viewing our publication files
(You may wish to save or print these instructions)
-
Download
the reader: click on the icon below - a new browser window will
open and you will be directed to the Adobe website. Scroll to
the bottom of the page, select your preferred language and operating
system, and click on the 'Download' button. You will be directed
to a new page and your browser will ask what to do with the file.
Select 'Save As,' 'Save File,' or 'Save this program to disk'
and note in which directory or folder it will be saved (You might
have to click the *RIGHT* mouse button on the file name in order
for the "Save As" option to appear).

-
WIN
95/98: Right-click on the "Start" button, select
"explore", and then find the directory or folder where
you saved the two files and double click on the file you just
downloaded.
-
Follow
the simple install instructions, and when completed, you should
have a new icon for Acrobat Reader.
-
Now
find -and click on- the Acrobat publication you wish to view.
At this point, most recent browsers will automatically launch
the reader, and you will be able to see the publication on your
screen. If not, you will be prompted to save the file. Do so,
making sure it will be in the same directory or folder as the
first downloaded file.
-
Open
Acrobat Reader by double clicking on the Acrobat Reader icon.
-
Open
the publication file by selecting Open, then File.
-
Now
you should see our publication on your screen.
Once you're using Acrobat: you can save or print the file, use
the 'hand' to move around on the page, or the arrows (like a CD
player) to move to other pages. Play around!

Specific
Directions for MAC users: downloading the Acrobat Reader and viewing
our publication files
(You may wish to save or print these instructions)
-
Download
the reader: click on the icon below - a new browser window will
open and you will be directed to the Adobe website. Scroll to
the bottom of the page, select your preferred language and choose
between the .hqx and .bin file types for the Mac (any of the two
will work - the .bin file is smaller), and click on the 'Download'
button. You will be directed to a new page and your browser will
start downloading the file. The file will be downloaded to your
desktop (You might have to hold the mouse button down for a second
on the file name in order for the "Save As" option to
appear).

-
The
file you download will be expanded to the self-extracting archive
"Install Acrobat Reader 4.0". You can then delete ar40eng_sit.hqx
or ar40eng_sit.bin. If your Web browser isn't configured to automatically
launch an application such as StuffIt Expander(TM) to expand .hqx
or .bin files, you'll need to manually launch an application to
expand the downloaded file to produce Reader 4.0 Installer.
-
Download
our publication: Now find -and click on- the Acrobat publication
you wish to view. Again save this file, making sure it will be
in the same directory or folder as the first downloaded file.
This will probably also default to your desktop.
-
Double-click
the file Install Acrobat Reader 4.0. (Note: This will cause all
current Mac(R) applications to quit.)
-
Follow
the instructions on your screen.
-
After
the install is finshed, open Acrobat Reader by double clicking
on the Acrobat Reader icon.
-
Open
the publication file by selecting Open, then File.
-
Now
you should see our publication on your screen.
Once
you're in Acrobat: you can save or print the file, use the 'hand'
to move around on the page, or the arrows (like a CD player) to
move to other pages. Play around!
